International environmental conference to be held in Québec City

The U.S. Air & Waste Management Association (A&WMA) has chosen Québec City to host its 112th Annual Conference & Exhibition (ACE). ACE is the top North American forum for information-sharing, networking, and business development in the environmental, air, and waste-management industries. The conference will bring together 1,500 experts from June 22 to 27, 2019, at the Québec City Convention Centre.

Nicolas Turgeon, engineer and CRiQ research, innovation, and partnership coordinator, is responsible for bringing this bit of business tourism to town. As president of APCAS (Association pour la prévention de la contamination de l’air et du sol), he campaigned for the event to be held in Québec City.

“This major international conference, which is coming to Québec City for the first time since the A&WMA was founded in 1907, will bring together the world’s leading experts in air and atmospheric emission control. It’s a unique opportunity to share what we know so that we can find solutions to one of the most critical challenges of our times: the fight against climate change,” said Cercle des ambassadeurs de Québec member Nicolas Turgeon.

Nicolas Turgeon and  Jean-Luc Allard 1^st vice president APCAS submitted the bid for Québec City to host the event at ACE 2017 in Pittsburgh. The city’s charm and the organizing committee’s professionalism undoubtedly helped seal the deal.
