Two Québec City Convention Centre Sales Managers were on the jury for Université Laval’s Three minute thesis (3MTMD). PhD candidates at the Faculty of Science and Engineering were asked to present their thesis during a 3-minute presentation. The competition was held on April 2, 2015.

Marie-Elaine Lemieux and Jocelyn Guertin, Sales Managers at the Convention Centre, were asked to be part of the jury and evaluate the candidates’ presentations. In total, six candidates presented for the Faculty of Science and Engineering the labor of their work in layman’s terms as to convince the jury.

Ms Caroline Loy, PhD candidate in materials engineering, and her research director, Diego Mantovani, came in first place.  Ms Loy will now compete against all Université Laval faculty winners on April 23. The Canadian finale will take place on May 27, 2015 during the 83e Congrès de l’Acfas. The international finale will be held in the Fall 2015.
