Québec City seeks sport events at SportAccord Convention in Sochi

Seeking to attract more sport conventions, Québec City was present in Sochi, Russia, for SportAccord Convention April 19 to 24, 2015.

Since hosting the 10th edition of SportAccord Convention in May 2012, Québec City has increased its attraction power for sport conventions and tourism. The Winter World Masters Games are a perfect example of the destination’s lure. 

Marc Magny, Sales Manager – International Sports Market for Québec City Business Destination, and Patrice Drouin, Gestev president, were among the Canadian delegation organized by the Canadian Sport Tourism Alliance. Representatives from the Canadian Olympic Committee, Tourism Calgary, Edmonton Events, Ottawa Tourism and Tourism Toronto were also part of the Canadian delegation.

SportAccord Convention gathers annually 1,800 representatives from more than 100 international sport federations, members of the IOC, host cities as well as numerous suppliers.
