On Thursday, April 9, 2015, the unified sales force of Québec City Business Destination unveiled its first marketing plan to develop business tourism in the region before some 60 partners and hotel operators at the Québec City Convention Centre.
Strategic committee president and CEO of the Québec City Convention Centre P.-Michel Bouchard pointed to all the hard work that went into creating the 2015–2018 marketing plan. He also spoke about the plan’s stated vision: “To be recognized as Canada’s leader in business tourism marketing.” This vision is based on an approach that replaces individualism with dynamic teamwork and will require effort, planning, and a sense of commitment from everyone involved.
The Director of Québec City Tourism, André Roy, for his part, discussed the winning conditions to meet the growth targets set for 2018. He was pleased with the success of the Québec City Business Destination enrollment campaign, which has secured 34 members to date. These members will enjoy a number of exclusive advantages, services, and other benefits, including personalized training and turnkey sales tools as well as access to the extranet site, market studies, and marketing strategies. All have agreed to uphold the values of transparency, collaboration, integrity, and loyalty, and to prioritize local interests while on missions outside the region.
After a presentation of the extranet by Caroline Langelier, Sales director at the Québec City Convention Centre, and Mr Jean-François Lebrun from Québec City Tourism, Ann Cantin, Director of Communications and Marketing for the Québec City Convention Centre, and Manon Collette, Director of Marketing at Québec City Tourism, presented the highlights of the marketing plan, the marketing strategies to position Québec City as a business destination, and a visual of the upcoming advertising campaign created by Hatem and Cossette.
With a marketing plan based on business intelligence, the Québec City Business Destination marketing team is sure to succeed in increasing spin-offs from promoting a world-class business tourism destination.
