Six heroes of Canadian medicine will be inducted into the Canadian Medical Hall of Fame during a prestigious gala ceremony at the Québec City Convention Centre on May 4, 2017. Some 400 distinguished business leaders, scholars, and medical practitioners are set to attend the gala, presented by the Canadian Medical Association and co-sponsored by Université Laval’s Faculty of Medicine.
In addition to the gala, the Faculty of Medicine will be presenting a medical symposium entitled Bâtisseurs en santé in collaboration with the Québec City Convention Centre. Three of the six laureates to be honoured at the gala will share their inspiring journeys and explain how they were able to contribute to the advancement of medicine in Canada.
They are Michel G. Bergeron, professor with Université Laval’s Faculty of Medicine and founder of the Infectious Disease Research Centre (CRI); Michel Chrétien, professor emeritus at Université de Montréal and recipient of an honorary doctorate from Université Laval; and Michael R. Hayden, professor at the University of British Columbia.
The symposium will take place Thursday morning, May 4, at Université Laval.
