Ann Cantin, Director of Communications and Marketing for the Québec City Convention Centre, had the honor of presenting the Fidéide Business Event award to Matthew Hatvany, full professor in the Geography Department at Université Laval for the International Geographical Union Regional Conference, the Canadian Association of Geographers Annual Meeting, and the National Council for Geographic Education Annual Conference.
Together, these three events on human and physical geography and education were the biggest geography gathering in the history of Québec. In August 2018, the event drew 1,300 experts from all over the world and generated economic spinoffs totaling $3.3 million.
