From October 30 to November 4, 2016, the Québec City Convention Centre will host the largest business convention ever held in Québec City, the JCI World Congress 2016 (Junior Chamber International World Congress).
Some 4,000 young professionals age 18 to 40 from 125 countries will descend upon the city. Registration for international participants began on November 4, 2015.
The 2015 edition of the JCI Congress was held November 3 to 8, 2015 in Kanazawa, Japan. A 50-member Canadian delegation representing JCI Canada and the Jeune Chambre de commerce de Québec (JCCQ) was in attendance to promote the event and attract as many participants as possible to the next congress. Québec City Convention Centre CEO P.-Michel Bouchard and head coordinator Catherine Forgues joined the delegates to get an overview of congress operations and logistics.
This congress is bringing people together. Nine heavy hitters from the Québec City business community—including P.-Michel Bouchard—have joined with Yvon Charest, President and CEO of iA Financial Group, to help orchestrate financing for the JCI World Congress 2016. The Ambassadors’ Club has a mandate to raise one million dollars between now and the end of 2015 to make sure the event is a success.
Created by JCCQ and JCI Canada, the JCI Québec 2016 committee will host the 2016 edition. With nearly 5,000 junior chambers in 125 countries, JCI brings together over 175,000 young business professionals and active citizens age 18 to 40.
