Departure of Josette Alain, a Québec City Convention Centre Pioneer
The Québec City Convention Centre celebrated its 20-year anniversary on August 29, 2016. On October 3, Josette Alain, Director, Event Coordination, one of the Convention Centre’s trailblazers, will start a new chapter after 20 years of service to the organization and a successful career in the event industry.
Among her many accomplishments, Josette organized more than 100 events at the Centre, including the prestigious Summit of the Americas in 2001. She quickly developed a sterling reputation for her ability to respond to the needs and expectations of conference-goers and her extensive event management experience.
Josette served in many roles at the Centre. She started as an Event Coordinator and was promoted to Assistant Director of the Customer Service team in 2001, to become the Director, Event Coordination in 2003, a role she has since executed brilliantly.
Helping build a top-notch Customer Service team over the years, Josette Alain has made an outstanding contribution to the success and reputation of the Québec City Convention Centre, named the World’s Best Congress Centre in 2006 and a finalist in 2014 by the International Association of Convention Centres.
